# Getting started

> Connect your Facebook Page's Messenger to your Heyy Inbox.

Connecting Facebook Messenger lets you handle your Page's conversations through the same [Inbox](/help/inbox/inbox-tour) as WhatsApp, Instagram, Live Chat, and SMS.

## Before you start

* You must be an **admin** with access to the Facebook Page you're connecting.
* The Page must be connected to your **Meta Business Portfolio**. Check the Business Portfolio settings to confirm the Page appears there before starting.

## Connect the channel

1. Go to **Settings → Channels**.
2. Click **Add Channel**.
3. Select **Facebook (Messenger)**.
4. Click **Connect** in the dialog.

</Frame>

This opens Meta's Facebook Messenger onboarding flow, which may ask you to:

* Sign in to Facebook or confirm your account.
* Select the target Facebook Page.
* Authorize Heyy to send and receive messages on the Page's behalf.

<Tip>
  If you manage several Pages, double-check you're selecting the correct one in the picker — the flow does not warn you if you select the wrong Page for this channel.
</Tip>

## Configure the profile

Open the **Profile** tab to review:

| Field                        | Editable in Heyy? | Notes                                                                          |
| ---------------------------- | :---------------: | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Internal name** | Yes | A label for internal use, not shown to contacts. |
| **Display name** | No | The Facebook Page name, read-only and sourced from the Page itself. |
| **Edit profile on Facebook** | — | Opens your Facebook Page settings in a new tab for anything not editable here. |

<Warning>
  **Disconnecting or deleting a Messenger channel is irreversible.** Heyy will no longer send or receive messages for that Page, and existing conversations may be lost or no longer accessible. Export or back up anything you need first.
</Warning>

## What Messenger is good for

* Customer support through your Page's Messenger inbox.
* Marketing campaigns and follow-up conversations.
* [Automations](/help/automations/index) using [Facebook triggers and actions](/help/automations/facebook-actions).
* [AI Employee](/help/ai-employees/going-live/channel-and-context) assignment for 24/7 first-response handling.

Messenger follows the same 24-hour reply window as WhatsApp — see [Conversation window](/help/inbox/chat-fundamentals/conversation-window).
