# Audience & recipients

> Choose which contacts receive a campaign.

A campaign audience is a set of **contacts** in your workspace—the same records you manage on [**Contacts**](https://app.heyy.io/contacts).

## Define your audience

When building a campaign, select who should receive the message. Common approaches:

* A **[saved contact view](/help/contacts/search-and-filters/saved-contact-views)** (for example VIPs, leads from a form, or a labeled segment)
* Filters on the contact table—see [Advanced filters](/help/contacts/search-and-filters/advanced-filters)
* Recipients added or adjusted for that specific campaign before send

Each person in the audience is a contact; Heyy tracks per-contact delivery on the [execution page](/help/campaigns-and-outreach/run/start-and-monitor).

## Subscription and eligibility

Only include contacts who are allowed to receive outbound messaging. [Contact subscription](/help/contacts/the-contact/contact-subscription) and channel rules affect whether a send succeeds—failed rows appear under [Delivery & failures](/help/campaigns-and-outreach/run/delivery-and-failures).

## After the campaign

Use execution results to [export](/help/campaigns-and-outreach/run/export-and-bulk-actions) or run [bulk actions](/help/contacts/search-and-filters/bulk-actions) on contacts (for example update attributes for everyone who failed).
